This class is designed to make creating fun, easy and completely un-intimidating. You don’t need any painting experience or expensive art supplies to take this class – all you really need are a few paints and brushes (your hands work just fine) and an openness to play.

That means we’ll paint all sorts of whimsical animals – owls, bears, foxes, lions and so much more. We’ll loosen up with painting backgrounds, experiment with nontraditional art supplies, draw and color in our sketchbooks and have fun bringing all of these animals to life.

WHAT MATERIALS WILL I NEED?
I'm a big believer that you don't need a lot of expensive art supplies to paint. All you really need to get started are some basic drawing and painting supplies in your favorite colors like acrylic paints, a cheap set of Crayola watercolors, a pencil, brushes and something to paint on.

Over the years, I've experimented with layering all sorts of traditional and nontraditional art supplies  - oil paintsticks, pastels, acrylics, inks, pencil, papers, pen and so many more... and I will be sharing all I’ve learned with you!

You'll receive a full supply list once you register - with details on my favorite brands, colors, where to shop and more. With each project, I also share a detailed color and supply list and give you a good look at my painting table so you know just what materials I am using and why.

ABOUT JULIETTE 

I’m Juliette Crane, the founder of The School of Happy Painting, a suite of online courses in fearless art and mess making that encourage thousands around the world to get creative and live their dreams.

With over 15 years experience as a working artist, I want to share what I’ve learned and what’s worked for me, in the hope that it’ll help you be more productive and develop your own style faster.

Art was the thing I loved to do growing up and in high school. But when I graduated college, I felt like my creativity didn’t matter.

I stopped painting for more than ten years. I went to work as an editorial assistant at a newspaper, occasionally writing a music review or gallery feature.

It took SO many different jobs as a photographer, gallery assistant, floral designer and more before I finally realized the only thing I could put my heart into was being a full-time artist.

My hope is that in sharing my creative process, you feel more connected and supported as you create, and find more beauty and happiness in your every day.
